Race had a heritage collection reimagined by Jay Blades and hosted an auction for the one off pieces with all proceeds going to the Jay & Co Academy. The collection was also available to view at Clerkenwell Design Week 2019 in the Ocee Design showroom. The Ernest Race Heritage Collection has been handcrafted in Britain since 1945. At a time of limited resources, Race’s first chair (the BA3), was revolutionary because of its manufacturing process, using salvaged materials, including recast aluminium from redundant aircraft and upholstery from recycled RAF fabric. Today, the BA3 is exhibited at the V&A museum as an example of iconic British design. We were asked to create a feature video for the project along with several short videos for each piece of furniture all with audio.
